If you are interested in supporting this small effort to fight global poverty by donating toward it, just know, that the impact from helping out this project will end up to be much greater than its apparent size.

Once the book sales have peaked and donations are secured, probably during the Rio winter or spring of 2014, Gary Mark Smith, donating his own time, travel and living expenses, and perhaps accompanied by others associated with this project, will administer a season’s worth of free art classes (dance, music, photography, painting and such…) for under-served youth in Rocinha.

It’s a noble cause, and both the arts educators and artful youth of the slum will benefit directly by every dollar you give us to work with, and of course you will also benefit knowing your donation saw light on the ground where it was needed most,  helping kids and arts educators in a place otherwise known as hopeless…

This is a non-Tax Deductible donation as we are not a legal 501-c3 organization, just a couple of global wanderers wanting to do good as they go giving the profits from the book made possible by the community back to the community in a really cool and artful way. An effective one-time shot at relieving the burden of poverty, not an ongoing 501-c3-like organization at this time.
